At the heart of every wedding is the love between the bride and groom. When Danny and Sara exchanged vows on Sunday, that love was reflected in the eyes of everyone who had gathered at the home of the bride’s father. Love … and gratitude that Sara’s dad was making a successful recovery following his heart surgery (necessitating a change in wedding date and location) and was able to be present for the celebration. The intimate setting truly demonstrated the words from their first reading, “Marriage … is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.” Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a luncheon buffet including apple pie cookies-on-a-stick that Sara’s grandmother made for the first time ever just for the occasion. After a honeymoon in the San Juan Islands, the newlyweds return to their home in Oregon City. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. White! May your life together continue to be as sweet and special as your love.

Weddings on the Water Showcase
Come experience a wedding on the water. Actually, make that FOUR weddings. During the floating bridal showcase being held on November 9th you can tour the Portland Spirit, the Willamette Star, the Sternwheeler and the Crystal Dolphin to see all the possibilities. Each boat will feature a different themed wedding reception complete with bride and groom, flowers, caterers, decor and more. I’ll be aboard the Portland Spirit representing Adorned in Grace, the nonprofit bridal shop that is dressing all four brides for the event. Hope to see you there! Summer Wedding Season Ends on a Sweet Note
The only thing better than having sweet people in your life is having the honor of officiating their wedding. My friend, Amy, exchanged vows with longtime boyfriend, Jared, at Council Crest Park today. The simple and sweet ceremony took place in the shade of an old growth cedar in front of family members (including the couple’s dog, Bonsai). Amy’s Mom, Nancy, surprised her and flew in from Kentucky last night to be on hand for the celebration. The groom’s family drove up from Eugene and brought the champagne to toast the newlyweds. The last wedding of the summer couldn’t have been more special. And it was a perfect example of simplistic and heartfelt vs. elaborate and chaotic. At the end of the day, what matters most is the love. Congratulations, Amy and Jared! May the sweetness of today be in your hearts forever.
Peach of a Pair Wed on Sunday
Peach was the color of choice for Santina and Nate as they exchanged vows last Sunday in Camas, WA. From the bridesmaids dresses to the abundance of roses … everything was peachy perfection. A unity sand ritual was included in the ceremony and guests kept cool with the thoughtful hand fans which included the wording “My heart is yours forever.” A lavish appetizer buffet reception showcased more peach with the peach themed candy bar and the lovely wedding cake. Turquoise was the accent color and displayed in the ladies jewelry and the bride’s shoes. After a honeymoon in Florence, Italy; the couple return to their careers in physical therapy. Congratulations, Mrs. & Mrs. Pileggi! May your journey through life together be filled with much joy and laughter.
Council Crest Wedding
Five majestic mountains provided the backdrop as Jeff and Jaimee exchanged vows yesterday afternoon. Sunny skies afforded distant views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainer, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams and Mt. Jefferson. The wedding was held at historic Council Crest Park, said to be the highest elevation point in Portland. Jaimee’s 6-yr old daughter, Isabella, was all smiles as she escorted her Mom down the rose petal aisle. Jeff’s buddies wore their Timber fan scarves and both the bride and groom referenced their devotion to the team in their vows. A picnic in the park followed the ceremony. After a honeymoon in California, the couple will return to their Tigard home. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Johnson! May you continue to view each other as “infinimates” and create a lasting marriage of joy.
Wedding Thunder on Mt. Hood
Storm clouds gathered and thunder rolled during yesterday’s ceremony on the grounds of the Mt. Hood Bed & Breakfast in Parkdale. Talk about electric energy. It was a race against the rain which held off until just moments after pronouncing Eric and Arianna husband and wife. Guests who had traveled from PA, CA, NJ, SD and even Australia, retreated to the banquet barn for a joyful celebration featuring live music and Lebanese cuisine. After a honeymoon on the Amalfi coast, the newlyweds return to their home in Southeast PDX and their careers in nursing and mental health. And they’ll plant the hemlock tree used for their unity ritual during the ceremony. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. DiIlio. May your hearts forever hold the love you so beautifully reflected on your wedding day.
Romantic Vista for Summer Wedding
Black, white and peridot were the colors chosen to create the sophisticated fun of yesterday’s wedding at the Oregon Golf Club in West Linn. The ceremony was held in the scenic rose garden under sunny skies. Romantic violins provided the program music as Natalie and Jonah became husband and wife. As a symbol of unity, the newlyweds placed their vows in a keepsake box and locked it with a key. Both the key and the box will have a place of honor in their home. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks on the veranda before dining on grilled salmon, beef sirloin, asparagus and wedges of butter leaf lettuce dressed with gorgonzola and bacon. A cold seafood bar featured crab legs, jumbo shrimp and oysters on the half shell. A highlight of the reception menu was the elaborate sweets table that included handmade truffles, fruit tarts and white chocolate skeleton keys. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Nelson. May life hold nothing but beautiful vistas for you both!
Wedding on a Rooftop
Parasols, hand fans and iced lemonade greeted guests as they stepped onto the rooftop terrace for Saturday’s wedding. Kim and Patrick chose the historic Pearl District Ecotrust building as the site for their evening celebration and a decor of turquoise, yellow and peach. The ceremony featured rose petals tossed with panache by two of the groomsmen and an aisle walk by “ring bearer” Samson, the couple’s two-year old Corgi. Guests flew in from Wisconsin, Texas and California for the big day and loved the uniqueness of the venue. Not to mention the delicious menu prepared by sustainable catering masters, Artemis, which included crab cake appetizers, wild caught salmon and white gulf prawn skewers. As a special thank you, guests were gifted with a bottle of Limoncello Liqueur homemade by the bride’s family. After a tropical honeymoon, the newlyweds return to their jobs and home in SW PDX. Congratulations, Kim and Patrick … may you always find a way to make sweet stories out of any lemons that life rolls your way.
Sunflower Wedding in Camas
Sunflowers, smiles and sunny skies made for a perfect wedding yesterday at the Fairgate Inn in Camas, WA. Tessa and Jordan exchanged vows in a ceremony that included a walk down the yellow rose petal aisle by Tessa’s dog, Josette, and an Indian Wedding Vessel unity ritual. Guests enjoyed lavish appetizers and dinner amidst the sunflower bouquets and navy blue accents. Tessa and Jordan met on a roller coaster in Oaks Park five years ago and the groom proposed at a castle in Germany last year. After a honeymoon in Oahu, Jordan heads to Georgia for Army boot camp and Tessa will join him later this fall. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Potter! May all your travels be safe ones and your married life be filled with joy.
Summer Evening Wedding
Traffic jams, road work and car fires were no match for the loving hearts patiently waiting for guests to arrive. The delayed start time only served to make the wedding ceremony that much dearer as family and friends witnessed Tony and Brittney exchange vows. The summer evening celebration was held yesterday at the Fairgate Inn in Camas, WA. Purple, black and white were the colors selected for decor, fabrics and favors. The dinner menu included favorites like salmon roulade and roast pork. Tony, you win the award for calmest groom ever and Brittney, you get the prize for most tears of joy shed during the ceremony. Congratulations to you both and sincere wishes for a joyful life together. You’re off to a great start!
