Delightful Wedding at Double Tree

PhotoGrid_1499632553394Guests from as far away as New York and Illinois gathered Saturday evening for the wedding of Alice and Kevin. Both the ceremony and reception were hosted at the Double Tree by Hilton Portland hotel. Glittery gold accented the color pallet of ivory, peach and black which was carried out in gowns, bouquets, decor and a sparkling candy station. The ceremony featured a glass sand unity ritual – the blended sand to be used by the groom to craft a signature piece of art. After the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy an open bar and hors d’oeuvres buffet which included mouth watering treats such as crab cakes and corn fritters. A lavish dinner buffet followed featuring Northwest salads, stuffed pasta, chicken, roast pork and a prime rib carving station. Entertainment included a photo booth and DJ tunes. In addition to the build-your-own candy box, each guest selected a succulent to take home (complete with “how to care for” instructions) courtesy of the family succulent farm. After a honeymoon in Cancun, the newlyweds return to Portland where Alice works in retail management and Kevin is a glass artist. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Murray! May your marriage be blessed with light and laughter.

Best Day Ever for Jessica and Doug

Jessica and DougSeven year sweethearts, Jessica and Doug, exchanged vows yesterday at the West End Theater in downtown PDX. The bride walked down the aisle to Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years and the newlyweds marched out to One Republic’s Good Life.  Navy, tangerine and ivory were the colors of the day. Bridesmaids wore variations of gowns in navy satin and the groomsmen looked sharp in charcoal gray suits, dark blue shirts and navy ties. Following the candlelight ceremony, guests were invited to the upstairs ballroom for cocktail hour and dinner. Special touches for the reception included a large framed seating chart hung on the brick wall outside the ballroom and custom labeled wine bottles indicating table numbers.

After a honeymoon in the Dominican Republic next week, the couple returns to their Portland home on Hayden Island. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Smedley! May the spirit of your “Best Day Ever” remain in your hearts forever.

A Garden Wedding

The lush Leach Botanical Gardens in SE PDX proved a magical setting for the Boudreaux wedding yesterday. A teacher at the Art Institute of Portland, the bride wanted the day to “be beautiful” – and it was. Even the rain couldn’t dampen the glow. Using birds and greenery, Cynthia did a perfect job of bringing nature indoors. Delicious Greek cuisine, acoustic guitar and even gift bags for the kids (a great idea to keep them entertained) … a fun and from-the-heart event for all. Congratulations, Cynthia and Ted!

DREAM WEDDING IN CAMAS

“That was the sweetest wedding ceremony I have ever been to. I love how you made it feel so personal … great job!” Wedding Guest

Like something you dream about, Cheren & Tyler’s wedding today in Camas was perfect in every way. The weather was beautiful, the bride was beaming and the setting was like a fairy tale. Perched on a hilltop like a regal queen, The Fairgate Inn provided an elegant and spacious site for guest lodging, wedding ceremony and reception. Event coordinator, Stacey, kept everything running smoothly and with a smile. Professional sound man, Mike Moore, was great to work with and made sure the music and audio was perfect inside and out. It takes a lot of capable hands to create a seamless event. Today’s wedding was a perfect example. After a tropical honeymoon, the newlyweds will reside in Washougal. Congratulations, Cheren and Tyler, it’s been a joy to work with you … may the laughter and love you shared today continue to grace your new life together. View slide show on next page.
